The Elwins
The Elwins are a bright and energetic pop rock band from the Toronto suburbs. The founding duo began playing together at Huron Heights Secondary School and released their debut self-titled EP in 2008. They expanded to the quartet they are today shortly after and self-released their first LP, "And I Thank You" in 2012. Shortly after the release, they began touring in the US and Western Europe, headlining stints of 40+ dates. The band tours zealously, often booking 8 weeks at a time with little break. They take playing very seriously, taking pride in a tight live show and working full days at home when not touring.
The Elwins' newest record, "Play for Keeps," is a 12-track release chock full of infectious, alternative dance pop. It has elements of surf rock with playful guitar riffs, tingling keyboard lines, and a drum sampler that boosts the optimism in every percussive hit. Their first single, "So Down Low," is an electric summer hit that battles the Ontario chill with relentless energy, reaching #12 overall on Canadian Alternative Rock charts. With an unusually strong work ethic, a supportive community, and penchant for writing hits, the Elwins are poised to thrive in today's music climate.
