Raul Midón is a virtuoso guitar player whose mixture of fingerstyle, slap, and percussion is as inspiring as his life story. Born to Argentinian/African-American parents in rural New Mexico, he was surrounded by world music and dance. Picking up drumming at the ripe age of 4, Raul set out for a life of music. Upon completing a degree in performance jazz from the University of Miami, Midón began performing as a session singer for artists like Shakira and Julio Iglesias. Transferring to New York in early 2000, Midón began his solo career with help from Little Louie Vega. Almost two decades of releases have showcased his distinct, wavy voice and unique strumming abilities across the globe. World music ingrained in his upbringing, Raul Midón brings together flamenco, Jazz and R & B into an evolved, unmatched global cocktail.
