Lizzo

Lizzo is a spitfire of an MC who sprays dynamic lyrics out like bullets. Her debut record, Lizzobangers, is a collaboration with Doomtree producer/beat master, Lazerbeak. It is a masterpiece of modern hip hop; diverse, upbeat and conscious. Lazerbeak’s notoriously wonky beats serve as the backdrop for Lizzo’s creative imagery and unstoppable flow. Channeling the speed of Andre 3000, soaring vocal skill of Beyonce, and the intellectual wordplay of Immortal Technique, Lizzo creates her own brand of explosive, in-your-face rap. Lizzobangers challenges thoughts on race, sex and cultural norms in a relevant, contemporary style.

There is a bustling scene of hip-hop heavy-hitters in Minneapolis rap that’s been brewing since the early 2000’s. With this army of supportive fans and co-creatives Lizzo is proving that when she speaks, people will listen.
