Fareed Haque’s MathGames!

Fareed Haque’s MathGames! is the most recent project of Garaj Mahal founder, Fareed Haque. Known around the world for his jazz guitar chops, Haque brings Alex Austin on bass and Greg Fundis on electronics and drums to transform into funky jazztronica. They blend classical with futuristic; incorporating wheeling progressions with grinding multi-tempos and blinding improvisation. With visuals orchestrated to fit each track, their shows become pieces of performance art. MathGames! remains a steady presence at Chicago’s clubs, but endeavor to take their space fusion jazz global as they travel to India in the upcoming year.
